Hi I'm Fabiana, the creator of Fab-Design & DIY.
I like making things, improving things, and figuring out how they work. I’ve always had the impulse to do things myself, whether it’s designing a product, drafting plans, or turning an idea into something real. I learn by exploring, testing, breaking, adjusting, and trying again. I’m not a polished brand or a big company. I’m just someone who enjoys creating and experimenting.
I grew up in a down to earth environment where imagination replaced possessions. I drew, built little objects, and invented my own games. That early habit of solving problems with limited resources stayed with me. Even now, I naturally look at objects, spaces, or ideas and wonder how they could work better or look more beautiful.
I studied architecture, which I loved, but the day to day reality of the profession wasn’t for me. So I shifted into object and product design. Over time, I worked across many creative and technical fields like interior design, technical drafting for a maritime engineer, branding, and lighting design. I learned to be flexible, practical, and unafraid to try something new.
One of the projects that came out of that mindset was GLOW, a customizable modular lamp system I designed to make lighting feel more personal, emotional, and playful. What started as an idea slowly turned into a real physical product sold through my own online store, combining design, storytelling, and DIY creativity.
Eventually, my health and fertility journey became part of this same mindset. Near forty and struggling to conceive, I started researching, testing, documenting, and finding answers step by step. After five years, I became pregnant with my rainbow baby. That experience led me to write a book and create resources I wished existed when I was struggling.
Everything here comes from curiosity, problem solving, and the desire to make things more useful and more meaningful. If anything you find here helps, inspires, or encourages you, I’m glad you’re here.
